The gemstone's name has a special story. In 1974, Miguel Méndez combined his daughter Larissa's name with mar, the Spanish word for sea, creating the name Larimar.

Often called the Stone of Serenity, Larimar is traditionally believed to symbolize peace, tranquility, emotional healing, and harmony.
